Let’s Ride Williams, AZ - Johnson Canyon Railroad Loop
Most of our KWT Particle Separator testing is done in Lake Havasu Arizona, but during the summertime Lake Havasu can be brutally hot, so we head over to one of our favorite places, Williams, AZ. Williams is a quaint little town of the Interstate 40, 40 Minutes west of Flagstaff and about an hour away from the Grand Canyon.
Our KWT team normally boondocks in the forest of Williams. There is free dispersed dry camping along Dog Town Road which is only about 5 miles outside the town of Williams. There are many spots available to boondocks amidst the cool pines and forest. It’s definitely a great location as a home base for trail riding.
Our favorite 70-mile loop ride encompasses many cool features like the Ashfork Steel Dam, Craters, many small lakes and the Johnson Canyon Tunnel. The trail meanders through pine tree forest, high desert and rocky sections. We must stress the importance of packing some food and plenty of water, as there are no places to stop for refreshment or gas. One of our favorite pit stops after the trail ride is stopping by the Foster Freeze in Williams for a sweet treat!
